9-25-79 - The day before the tournament Geoff , Al and I went prospecting. We headed out in the dark towards the 277. The weather got snotty and the seas so high we were afraid to turn around in the dark. In early morning nearing the 277 we got bit. I was on the rod and backing up resulted in a salt water bath. Meanwhile Geoff and Al stayed up on the bridge out of the weather. There were times when the fish was in the huge swells actually over our heads. But, we got it.
