Wanting to get something to allow us to make the move, in 1971 I purchased a
32' twin diesel (160 HP Perkins) Luhrs. We then made annual trips to San
Diego staying at the Marina Cortez on Harbor Island. This allowed us to
make those trips to the Albacore grounds and we made the most of the
opportunity. This boat was named after our two young boys,
Kenneth and
Daniel. Hence, the 1st "KEN-DAN" joined the fleet. Lots of trips and lots
of Albacore followed. |
